Now, EZ-Link is taking its contactless payment efforts to the next level. On 28 April 2022, EZ-Link announced the launch of its enhanced EZ-Link Wallet. Developed in collaboration with Mastercard, the new Pay by Wallet with Mastercard feature is the first digital wallet product to leverage Mastercard’s Pay By Account technology. Going cashless just got EZ-ier
To use the Pay by Wallet feature, you will first need to sign-up for the EZ-Link wallet, which you will be able to find using the EZ-Link app.
To sign up for the EZ-Link wallet, you’ll need to download the EZ-Link app and click on the EZ-Link Wallet banner on the home page. Once you’ve got your EZ-Link Wallet set up, you can now activate Pay by Wallet through the EZ-Link App and perform an instant sign-up securely and seamlessly via SingPass.
With Pay by Wallet activated, you will be able to make online and in-store contactless payments at over 80 million Mastercard merchants worldwide! This means even when you travel, you’ll still be able to use Pay by Wallet to make contactless payments for your shopping. You’ll also be able to manage your Netflix, Disney+ and Spotify subscriptions, as well as your gym membership, book a ride through ride-hailing platforms, and even shop online.
If you’re an active user of Google Pay, you can also add Pay by Wallet to Google Pay to make contactless payments for both retail and transit transactions.
Pay by Wallet is an expansion of EZ-Link Wallet’s acceptance points and comes off the back of EZ-Link’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its ecosystem of digital services and capture the digital payments market. Many of us are shopping more online and digital payments have become second nature to us as it cuts out the hassle of having to carry large amounts of cash everywhere. Digital payments have also sped up the payment process with just a tap of the card or digital wallet.
