The deceased was Clarrisa Neo Li Shan, a regional manager at a biomedical company. She was 28 years old.
Holiday Gone Horribly Wrong
According to 8world, she was travelling with three other Malaysians, a man and two women, on a trip to Redang Island.
In another report by Zaobao, Malaysian police said that Neo was in the front passenger seat when the accident occurred, and had suffered from multiple injuries.
The four of them encountered bad weather as they were driving down the highway. The BMW went over a puddle, resulting in the car skidding and crashing into the guard rails along the expressway.

One of the two Malaysian women, 30, who was in the back seat, broke her left leg and injured her right hand. The other Malaysian woman, 28, who was also in the back seat, was not hurt from the accident. The driver, Neo’s 31-year-old boyfriend, who was also her colleague in the biomedical company, was unharmed as well.
Neo’s body was subsequently taken to a hospital in Terengganu for an autopsy. 8world reported that her family were also on the way to Malaysia.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the four friends had left Kuala Lumpur around 1pm that day for Rendang, a popular island destination.
Besides her work for the biomedical company, Neo was also involved in the jewellery business selling lab-grown diamonds. She was the chief operating officer and a co-founder of The Better Diamond.
